Microsoft music news

Well, today the new Zune should be out. You can even get them customized. From the sounds of it you will also have a new music store for it too. I was so looking forward to not mentioning URGE anymore. I was so looking forward to REAL and MS playing nice for a change. HAH, what was I thinking. :) Honestly, I think it was inevitable that MS would go for a music store it could own outright. Something they can add to the ZUNE Marketplace.

I would love to see a non-DRM, vendor neutral online music store that would be easily integrated into open source music software. Of course, I'm still looking for a decent program/interface for syncing my PMP. So I guess I should either do something about it or quit complaining right? :)

Do you GNOME where E is?

GNOME just released the roadmap for the next release. I'm not sure I can wait for the next release for the WebKit backend in Epiphany I may have to try that before the next release. :) Sounds like some nice cleanups and better integrations are in the future. Overall the updates don't sound exciting or "sexy" but they are definitely needed.

In a bit of related news Rasterman has come out the cave and explains a bit why Enlightenment 0.17 hasn't been released yet. And related to that, Walmart is now carrying the Everex TC2502 Green gPC that runs gOS, a modified version of Ubuntu 7.10 with E17 for $199 US.
