An attempt to make it easy for most users while having a clean interface.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Another example is gTwitter. In order to switch between the two different display formats you must drill down into gconf-editor again to make that switch possible.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;There are many other too. I'm not saying GNOME is bad. I think it has some fantastic apps.
